Zinc Descriptions

NATURAL Zinc is a durable and aesthetic material that in the course of time develops a unique charm by the progressive patination of roof and façade cladding. The patina layer originates by the formation of a zinc carbonate base, which forms an oxide skin that is also a natural protective coating. This process starts under the influence of the weather conditions. It has a natural course, so the full grey shade is obtained after one to four years.
 
PRE-WEATHERED QUARTZ Titanium Zinc that undergoes a patination process to give a fully natural colour. The uniform medium-grey surface of Zinc originates after a chemical surface treatment following the rolling process.  No coating or lacquer layer is applied.  The structure and composition of the patina layer that is normally naturally formed by weather influences is simulated, and the natural properties of the titanium zinc are fully retained.
 
ANTHRA Titanium Zinc which is already pre-weathered during the production process, it is created by a chemical surface treatment after the milling process.  All the characteristics of zinc titanium are fully retained.  Anthracite is beside Pre-weathered Zinc a second colour variant of pre-weathered zinc titanium. If you prefer the dark surface from day one, we recommend Anthracite.
 

TEXTURED titanium zinc subjected to a patination process with a surface structure.  Rolling and smoothing with imprint rollers results in a surface treatment that provides a surface structure on both the top side and bottom side of the material.   This process is called structure rolling.

COPPER

Copper Description

Standard copper has a bright red surface, which gradually turns to shades of brown and green when exposed to the environment. This may take tens of years.
 
Brown Copper is a dark oxidised copper. It is designed to look like copper weathered to the degree of natural oxidation before the familiar green patina develops. It is ideal for applications where a dark brown finish is required from the beginning. It is mainly intended for roofs and exterior wall covering, windows, doors and for decorative purposes.
 
Green is a pre-patinated copper which already has the established green patina of weathered copper from the outset, so you don’t have to wait for the weathering process to get the end result. It can be easily bent and is most commonly used for making panels and cassettes. Green is available in traditional and living surfaces. The living surface has a mottled and lively pattern.

ALUMINIUM

Aluminium Description

ANODISED ALUMINIUM is a controlled electro-chemical process that uniformly creates a thick oxide film as part of the aluminium itself.  The specification for the thickness of the anodised oxide film depends on the required application and location, and is measured in microns.  Generally, the greater the thickness of oxide, the greater the ability to withstand harsh corrosive conditions.
 
PAINTED ALUMINIUM Uses type 5052 or 5005 marine grade aluminium alloy substrates, polyester primer, a choice of waterborne, polyester or 70% PVF2 top coats, AR8™ and ARX™ are designed for use in severe and very severe marine environments and are ideal for cladding.

STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless Steel MM 445 Description

 
Grade 445M2 is easier to work with than austenitic stainless steels such as 316: the much lower rate of work hardening gives lower forming loads, and less springback. Grade 445M2 also behaves like carbon steel in cutting operations: it gives cleaner cuts, with less distortion, and much better tool life.
 
These advantages have been crucial for the introduction of the grade to uses like roll formed roofing and cladding, and expanded metal. It is also very useful for perforating into acoustic screens etc.
